Why I eyes ya.
After dim sum with Asimovian & Jakeline this weekend, I went shopping in Chinatown. It was a long day, and I was pretty tired when suddenly I heard this really familiar voice. I tried to set it aside and mind my own business, but I just couldn't let it go. I knew I heard this voice before - a number of times, even - and I was going nuts trying to place it.
Hoping to jog my memory, I turned around to see who was speaking. It was the shopkeeper, an elderly Korean woman. I thought to myself, "I don't know any elderly Korean women" when it totally dawned on me why the voice was so familiar.
(Go watch the video, I'll wait.)
The first time I heard that clip was audio-only and I remember thinking how awful it was that someone was making fun of 'that poor woman.' When I finally saw the video it became my favorite thing ever and I played and sent it to everyone I know. I even briefly considered naming the cat "Oh Don Piano."
So you'll understand when I had to leave the shop before collapsing with laughter and texting everyone I know about The Talking Cat Lady.
