False alarm.
So, yeah. My first day back at work again is tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for seeing me through my (fortunately) short-lived panic. I'm doing contingent work at a company I had a great experience with previously (sadly, not in the same department) but the people are great, the commute is better and the hours, blissfully, are not based on the NYSE.
Extra bonus points because this re-starts the clock on open enrollment and I get health insurance benefits again for the first time in ages.
I'm taking that as my cue not to complain about a minor cut in pay and going back to admin work. All's well that ends well, right?
Now off to yoga and then home again to plan tomorrow's fabulous work ensemble.
This makes me so happy that everything worked out and your commute is better. Hope to get to see you more often now that you aren't spending 10 kafrillion hours commuting anymore! Mwah!
