I don't understand the whole "going out while it's still good" concept. When it's good, I want more. Can't we go out when things are just starting to slide downhill?
I mean TV today is so weird. Shows don't get a chance to turn into good these days (they get canceled right out of the starting gate if they fail to pick up an audience--biggest annoying example of this: Firefly. I mean, did you know that Cheers took three seasons to get super popular and then it was one of the biggest money makers in the history of NBC?), and when they start out good they end so they can go out in a blaze of glory OR they have a 10 episode season and 8 months between new seasons (hella annoying! Look! They made me say "hella" !)
There are obvious exceptions to this (Scrubs comes to mind, and My Name is Earl, and How I Met yermoM), but I just don't get the reasoning behind how they're doing things these days.
Also, I think the whole "Battlestar has run its course" is a bullshit cover for what's really going on, although I have no idea what's really going on. Maybe the actors are getting tired of doing it.
As the Mighty Jim T. would say in closing on any particular topic but especially one that has gone on and on: pooper.
the end.

I'm so sorry for you and all the rest of the fans, but I also applaud a show that has the self-awareness and the balls to stop when things are still good. Such a rarity these days.
