Progressive Insurance Sucks.

(Consider this an opportunity taken)

Dear Progressive Insurance:

I was involved in a felony hit & run on 11/11/06. My claim number is 0602xxxxx. My claims representative, Caitlan at the Sherman Oaks office (818-461-xxxx) has been unresponsive and does not return my calls in a timely manner. When she does reluctantly return calls, she is unhelpful and dismissive.

To date, (12/12/06) my car remains at XXXX Auto Body. My contact is Jose at 818/506-xxxx. He contends the delay is Progressive's fault, because the claims inspector will not come out to inspect the damage to the car; yet Caitlan at Progressive claims the delay is caused by the fact that Progressive does not work directly with XXXX Auto Body. Neither of these in-house administrative issues should delay the repair of my car, or impact my experience as a (former) paying client of Progressive.

Due to the multiple delays in processing this claim, my car will not be returned to me until December 15, 2006. Meanwhile, I have made two payments on the car while it sits neglected in the repair shop.

To say I am dissatisfied with Progressive's service would be a severe understatement. Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere and will take every opportunity to discuss Progressive's failings as an insurance company.

My p'up was damaged by a hit & run in a parking lot and tho it's only been a few days I've already had my fill of dealing with the Warwick, RI Progressive so-called adjuster. Tried to steer me to one particular dealer's body shop several times while talking to him, even trying that old line about leaving it because the local Prgressive adjuster (how the heck many adjusters are needed for what should be one claim anyway?) might have to see it taken apart to determine the full extent of the damage. Meanwhile, the "office" based adjuster seems to have no interest in seeing the vehicle. I'm not at all pleased with these people, especially since with a high deductible there may not even be a claim or much of one.
