Random House

Choosing this material for the kitchen curtains makes up for the fact that I'm blogging about kitchen curtains, doesn't it?

Anyway, last night the Arclight had a special showing of Dr. Strangelove as part of AFI's 100 Years/100 Movie quotes.

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!
It's one of my favorite movies, and it was amazing seeing it on the big screen. Even better, they managed to get an original print from the studio so the picture quality was outstanding. It was a total movie-geek evening. I wish could more eloquently express how relevant the film is today; it's almost comforting that we're still struggling with the same issues - after all, it's proof that we've survived inept and corrupt government before. With any luck we'll do it again.

If you haven't seen it, rent it - if you've seen it before, watch it again. I'll wait here.

In the meantime, I'm reading this article about how to do work you love. I haven't finished it, so I'm not sure if I agree with it or not. It's a subject that's on my mind frequently, so it's worth posting here for future reference.

Enough internet for today - time to get some work done around here.
