I'm still here!

It would appear we've moved from the theoretical to the actual. I received an offer on the townhouse, but I kind of put it on the back burner and didn't really think about it because I wasn't sure it was going to happen - the vagaries of escrow being what they are - and why jinx it by worrying? That, and I'm already busy driving myself mad with finals, and I can only have one flavor of breakdown at a time.

Yesterday was the physical inspection of the house, and we set the date for the new owner to take occupancy - December 19th. For those of you keeping track at home, that's less than two weeks from today, and the weekend immediately following finals. Eep. After allowing myself the full twenty-four hours required by law for Big Financial Decision Freak-outs, I spent today haunting Westside Rentals and viewed four apartments in four hours. In direct opposition to last Sunday, I can actually see myself living in three of the four places I viewed today. Tomorrow I've got two more places lined up (I'm rooting for the one on King's Road) so we'll see what happens.

Learning from last year's move, the first thing I will do when I have a confirmed address is to arrange for cable modem. That being said, don't be surprised if posting is touch and go until I get everything sorted again.

You know that bit where I talked about how everything in the house felt intolerable because I was trying to move on? Well, this is kind of hard to say - but I think I'm actually going to miss this place a little bit. As much as I want tangible evidence that I'm letting go of the past, there were some good times here. Thank you, little townhouse - for everything.

She was good to me too. If only she weren't in buh fuh.

Hang in there, Rita. This is nothing compared to the circumstances surrounding your move last year!!

It could be said that ya'll moved AWAY to buh fuh, but you already have to suffer with snow, so I wouldn't rub it in like that.
